Family

It's funny when I look back at my childhood, we didn't have a lot of money but that didn't matter. My mum always made sure we had enough and that we always knew we were rich with love. I have fond memories of picnics, library outings, dance lessons and those weekly trips to the swimming pool.
One of my favourite memories is going swimming. My sister and I used to push each other off the highest diving board, and swim till our arms ached. We would then scoff marmite sandwiches whilst sat in our towels with water dripping off our hair. I'm still a keen swimmer and as soon as i get out of the pool all i crave is one of those marmite sarnies.
My sister was something else growing up. Always the sensible, witty, smart and gorgeous one. I was always a little jealous of her. ya know the way little sisters are. I was the rebellious one. The one that stayed up late with friends and had a bit of a sharpe tongue. My older, wiser sister was always looking out for me. She would stay up to make sure I got home alive, told me off when I needed to be told and always loved me even when i was unbearable to be around! She was my rock and still is to this day. When my life gets hard, she's the first person i confide in.
We spend Christmas together every year as a family of 6 now. I'm so lucky to have been brought up by two strong, feminist women. They have taught me all i know about life and what really matters.

New Beginnings

It's been a long time.
I'm not sure why I left.
I'm not sure why I've come back.

I loved blogging. It was a place for me to write about the little things that I loved and sometimes took for granted. However since attempting to start again, I realise that It's hard to look back on past post's.
That was me then and I feel like a completely different person now.

I'm not sure what to say, wether to be honest or dance around the subject so I feel like it's sometimes just good to tell the truth. Glen and I broke up. It was tough. It still is. I will be fine. We spent 5 years together, and I can't erase that, nor do I want to.

Going through this makes me realise how lucky I am to have so many wonderful friends and family who show constant love and support. And make me laugh. A lot.
Thank you.

anyone fancy a road trip?

I've been a fan of Local Natives for a while now, and last night spent a good hour just watching their music videos. I felt that I just had to post the above video as it captures my mood perfectly!

I am craving a road trip with close friends. The weather in London is miserable and the thought of going away and taking a trip around Europe or America is just too tempting!

I'm off to Spain next month with my family and I can't wait to sink my feet into the sand and just relax by a pool.

What are your plans for the summer? Is anyone taking a road trip?

always remember....

My Sister who is also my best friend, sent this to me last week when i was having a tough time. It's really easy to forgot that you control the things that happen in your life and growing up is all about learning to except the things you can't change and do something about the ones you can!
DREAM IT. DO IT!

Last month I embarked on a project with a few of my talented friends, whose new production company is here. It was a great experience , being creative and watching them at work was so inspiring. The finished project is the above video.

My friends are in a brilliant band called Cowbell. They have been compared to the likes of The White Stripes and The Black Keys, and in my eye’s that’s pretty great! I’m not telling you that they’re good, just because they are my friends and I love them, I’m telling you because well… they are! They have just come back from touring around the UK and Berlin. And have also just been played on BBC Radio 6 by Lauren Laverne and Nemone.

Please check out the video and let me know what you think.

Also if you do like their music please do pop along to their single launch in Shoreditch, London. All the information is on their website here. It would be great to see you.

Oh and you may also recognise the guy in the glasses in the video, as it’s only my lovely boyfriend who is all over this blog!

I've been trying to be better at remembering to take my camera out with me. It's been sunny in London, and it's made a huge difference to everyone’s mood. Walks in the park, enjoying a cup of coffee outside and glancing out of the window at the sun has been delightful these past days.

I hope this weather stays a while...fingers crossed.

All of the above photos are taken in Stoke Newington, North London.

1. The view from my living room. I'm in love with the stained glass windows.
2. A quick coffee in The Spence Bakery, before we had to dash off to seperate meetings.
3. Stoke Newington, Church Street.
4. Walking home through clissold park.
