weekend excitement

so we've had to stay in today to wait for our tickets to the screening of Harry Potter to arrive,
and yes we finally got them.
We can't wait to see it even if we do have to be at the cinema by 9 am tomorrow morning.
I love Harry Potter....
I know i'm a big kid but i don't care!
I like being a big kid sometimes, it's much more fun!

This week has been great, no work and all play.
We're having a heat wave in London at the minute which means
swimming, having drinks outside with friends in the garden and sunbathing a lot.
I love life

Have a great weekend

cooking day

Today Glen and I have been stuck in the house waiting for a little something to arrive (more on that later) so we decided to cook some delicious food from my new Sophie Dahl cookbook and watch Wimbledon ( poor Murray). I love this book, the recipes are easy, homely and healthy.

Anyhoo, heres a recipe taken from her book and a little photo of the outcome made by us, well me( i'm very bossy in the kitchen)!

Serves 6 (umm.. is it bad that we ate half of this in one afternoon?)

75g of soft butter

4 ripe bananas mashed up

200g soft brown sugar

1 egg beaten

1 tbs of vanilla extract

1ts of bicarbonate of soda

1 pinch of salt

170g of flour ( i used wholemeal, rye and pumpkin)

Preheat the oven to 180. Add the mashed bananas into a big mixing bowl. Mix in the butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Add the bicarbonate soda and salt and mix in the flour last, Pour into the prepared tim. Bake for 1 hour, remove and cool, then serve in slices with butter.

a little about moi

I've been working long hours this week and will be for the rest of the month. I've been cranky because of this and I'm so tired i can't think properly.
I feel like I'm working so hard and putting in so much effort and not getting any satisfaction out of it.

but.............
I'm really not sure what i want to do, and that's okay with me. i like not having plans. i find that life never goes the way i expected it to, and as a result it's made me a lot happier.

at the age of 18 i travelled around the world on my own. i met so many wonderful people, that shaped me into the person i am now.

I went to university to study publishing at 19 - i only lasted 3 months. i hated it and i knew it wasn't for me instantly. it took 3 months to get the courage to admit i wasn't happy.

My sister found me work experience in t.v at 19 and I've been working in the industry ever since. it found me, more than i went looking for it. it came at the perfect time.

I met Glen from moving in to a house share with friends from work. We were friends first and then it just happened....... we feel madly in love with each other.

I have always felt that there was something missing in my life which i couldn't explain. not even to myself. i found what was missing when i went to Malawi last year.

I didn't go looking for any of these things to happen, but they did and it's made me the person i am now. i am so grateful for all of these adventures that I've experienced. I am a nicer, brighter, happier person because of it.

when times are hard and i can't face getting out of bed and seeing the world, i have to remind myself what i have achieved, and still can.

maybe i am a little sentimental

Now. I’ve never been this girly-girl before, in fact i’ve been completely the opposite. I never liked to be in a long term relationship before, but maybe i pushed them away because deep down i knew they weren’t good enough. trust me they weren't.
So now as i’m sat in our room listening to ‘Neil Young - Old Man’ (our song) i can’t stop thinking about you and how happy I am to be with you and a part of your life.
Thank you for being you. Thank you for accepting my bad mood swings, my addiction to reality T.V (the hills and the city), my addiction to cheese, even though you can’t stand cheese! for looking after me in so many ways. for tickling my arm at night in bed, when i never tickle yours.for drawing little pictures of us, for being so wonderful with my family and friends.
so i guess what i’m really trying to say is you’re amazing -I love you x
