So i've been looking high and low for a beautiful dress to wear on my b'day. I've just seen naomi's selling some vintage dresses on her cute etsy shop. I probably shouldn't blog about this because i already know i'll want them all. so please save me one!

a tiny rant

okay, so on my way out on sunday night for dinner,  housemate said

 "you guys eat out a lot" in a very disapproving tone.

that’s right, maybe we do eat out 2-3 times a week and sometimes twice in one day, but who cares! we like eating out, it’s a time which we can spend alone, be romantic and enjoy nice food.

his comment really stuck with me and i could feel myself becoming slightly angry.

glen didn’t care, he just said"‘so what..?", but i couldn’t shake it off. it made me realise that other peoples words do really affect me. i need to find away to deal with this better.

anyway we ate sushi that night and it was great!

i heart weddings...

I was lucky enough to go to an amazing Indian wedding on Saturday. I got to meet up with old friends and see one of my close friends get married. She looked absolutely gorgeous and she didn't stop smiling all day! We got to eat the most delicious Indian food and meet some amazing people.
...........................................................
It made me miss our trip to South India so much.
 I would do anything to go back and ride elephants, eat yummy curries, and be a part of their culture just one more time.

happy weekend

 {photo taken by one of the primary school students in malawi}

Fridays here, woot, woot!

 We’re off to our friend’s wedding tomorrow, and then off to a film screening of Shifty on Sunday. Hopefully we will have lots of lovely photos to share on Monday.

I have had a mixed week this week, some good luck which was then followed by some bad luck - so typical!

But I have a lot of exciting new projects on the arisen.

I will be telling more soon.....

I hope you all have a superb weekend!

i can't get enough of..

Naomi is so inspiring, likeable, adorable and well oh so very stylish too! I love her blog and i especially love her and her husbands road trip video. If you haven't already seen it - enjoy, it really is wonderful!

not sure why

I ask too many questions, which leads to me putting pressure on myself to find the answers.

current obsession

I can't get enough of Bat for Lashes. This video is slightly dark, but the song is beautiful and her vocals are amazing.
If you haven't heard of her before, check out her first album

happy happy times

 I just love day's spent in the park watching little ones playing and sharing secrets with my love.

too funny not to share

Glen filmed this last year and i've just watched it back. It may just be me, but it makes me laugh so much. Enjoy!

Tuesday 14 April 2009

two things..

numero uno -
So my lovely friend Charlotte has just moved out, and I'm really going to miss her. She's always been there for me when I've needed to moan, laugh or just talk (at her!). and she's become much more than a housemate. I'm so glad that she's only moved down the road and I can still see her for chats and to see how much fun we can have with a chocolate biscuit............

numero due -

Charlotte is also a trained actor. and has just had a part in the new film 'The Boat That Rocked' - it's only a short part, but a good part. welldone you!

So go and watch the film and check out the nurse with dark blonde hair (charlotte!). you can see her a little in the trailer too!

yummy times

I hope you all had a yummy Easter.
My beautiful mum came to visit and we had a great time indulging ourselves with scrumptious cupcakes, and lots of pots of tea.
I am so grateful for my mum and Easter breaks!

                          I love this one- little Nat

maybe i am a little sentimental

Now. I’ve never been this girly-girl before, in fact i’ve been completely the opposite. I never liked to be in a long term relationship before, but maybe i pushed them away because deep down i knew they weren’t good enough. trust me they weren't.
So now as i’m sat in our room listening to ‘Neil Young - Old Man’ (our song) i can’t stop thinking about you and how happy I am to be with you and a part of your life.
Thank you for being you. Thank you for accepting my bad mood swings, my addiction to reality T.V (the hills and the city), my addiction to cheese, even though you can’t stand cheese! for looking after me in so many ways. for tickling my arm at night in bed, when i never tickle yours.for drawing little pictures of us, for being so wonderful with my family and friends.
so i guess what i’m really trying to say is you’re amazing -I love you x

Tuesday 7 April 2009

because today is a very good day indeed.

{my sister, when she was only a little one and scared of santa. too cute!}

because i can announce that my big sister is pregnant! I can't believe that my sister will be a mummy soon. and what an amazing mum she will be. I'm so happy!

I love this one.

        I'm so grateful to have this little one in my life. I can't imagine what my life would be life if we hadn't met in the kitchen at Comic Relief and bonded over lunch ( me- salad and sushi, you - soup)! I can't imagine not having the rest of our lunch breaks together sharing salads and soups ( and the not so healthy galaxy chocolate bar!) and talking about absolute nonsense for an hour. I can't imagine not going to Malawi with you and seeing such poverty, yet meeting the most welcoming, friendly and inspirational people I have ever met. I can't believe Malawi was a year ago! I miss it so much.
       ..........................................................................................................................................................

So with that being said - Thank you Natalia, for taking me to banana house, cheering me up and buying me dinner. and thank you for moving to Stoke Newington and living around the corner from me. I'm not sure what I would do without our meals at ittos, drinks and pizza binges at il bacio.

    ..............................................................................................................................................................

You can also check out our volunteering options for going to Malawi and teaching nursery, primary and secondary school students.

Saturday 4 April 2009

I can't wait for.....

Glen to come home from work, can you believe he has to work on a Saturday from 7 am-8pm, ridiculous i tell you!
I've had a lovely day cycling in the park with my beautiful french house mate Marie, and reading eat,pray,love - honestly how have i never read this book before? I'm only on chapter one, and it is already making my mouth drool with all her stories from Italy.
Thank you mum and sis for introducing me to her stories.

Friday 3 April 2009

because now I am an addict!

too much fun

                                                         {me and Glen in years to come}

 I found an application called polarize on my i phone earlier, it is now my new best friend!

Thursday 2 April 2009

I want one of these.....

So it's my birthday next month and I wouldn't mind receiving one of these in the post. I love Japanese writing. The boy actually asked me if I would like to go to Japan last week - ummmmm, yes please!

Sometimes I really love my life.

{Sorry it's so blurry, don't you love the edge's though. not sure how this happened}

Today I woke up to a beautiful sky peeking through my curtains. I then decided to go for an early swim {a whole hour, can you believe that!} and then met my gorgeous housemate for a coffee {which ended up being 3}, and lots of chats. The boy also came home from work early, so we decided to snuggle up on the sofa and watch a film. I really am starting to get used to time off!
I also found these little gems from the summer spent at 'Hop Farm' festival in Kent, Uk.
